About
Sam Howard graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas State University concentrating on performance and production. He spent his early years in Austin as co-founder and the managing director of Theatre Synesthesia, a theatre company seeking to engage its community with provocative performance and inspire its audience with bold, new and contemporary stories. Sam has also worked with Jarrott Productions, Trinity Street Players, Aztec Economy, Sound4studios, among others.
Sam began acting in school and community plays and earned a theater scholarship to Texas A&M University where he spent a few years before moving to Los Angeles to pursue acting. While in LA, he worked on Eavesdropper, an independent remake of D is for Daisies, and modeled for designer Andrew Christian.
Since returning to Austin, he has received accolades in theater productions of Static, and Significant Other and the short film Pretty Bad Shape. More recently Sam played the lead role as Bobby Dean in the award-winning indie film Date from Hell, which debuted at Austin Film Society’s SXSW short film showcase in 2019.
Sam has been involved in a range of projects including seasons 1 & 2 of the CW’s Walker, HBO Max’ Love and Death and the Netflix film Plus/Minus. He is interested in further opportunities to pursue his passion in principle film and television roles and theater productions.
“The Theatre Synesthesia cast is amazing as always. Marci Blackwell, Nicholas Kier, Sam Lee Howard, and Devin Finn are riveting and compelling every moment. Their laser focus on the rhythm created by Wimpee's eloquent script is outstanding and needs to be seen to be appreciated.”

“Tanner Smith and Sam Howard each play three characters, the significant and not-so-significant others of Jordan and his three gal pals. They seem to have learned quick-change arts as well. Switching characters while switching hats is another rare skill in theatre arts, and Smith and Howard are well up to it.”
